Young Boy Dressed for a Festival

Comments - Interesting image of a young boy dressed for a festival, stretching out the sleeves of his robes. One sleeve of his outer blue and purple outer kimono is pushed down to the waist to show off his purple kimono with a magnificent design of a crane in flight against a red sun and splashing waves. A large fan, a woven hat topped with a peony blossom, and a shakujou or pilgrim's staff topped with a ringed finial rest on the ground around him. A colorful and unusual subject, detailed with embossing on the ribs of the fan.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 9 1/8" x 14"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Backed with paper. Slight toning, soiling, and spotting, a few creases and stains. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
