Original Jinbo Tomoyo (1902 - 1994) Japanese Woodblock Print
Beauty and Hydrangeas, 1955

Comments - Lovely shin-hanga portrait of a beauty standing beside a rustic wooden pillar beside a garden with hydrangeas. She looks off into space with a pensive, dreamy expression, lost in her thoughts. She wears a violet kimono tied with a yellow obi featuring large stylized blossoms, a tiny fish figurine ornamenting the narrow cord tied over the obi. A pink sash with an embossed cloud pattern falls over the top of the obi. A beautiful design by this rarely seen female artist, detailed with embossing in the white kimono trim and silver mica on the hair ribbon. Dated Showa 30 (1955) in right margin, from a limited edition and stamped 80 on reverse.

Artist - Jinbo Tomoyo (1902 - 1994)

Image Size - 15 3/8" x 10" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A few light creases at edges. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
