Comments - Handsome scene showing the night attack on Moronao's castle by the famous 47 Ronin. This incredible panoramic view shows the snowy courtyard and palace grounds with a fierce battle raging throughout the complex. At lower left, two warriors discover Moronao cowering in the storage shed and drag him from his hiding place. In the center, a ronin counters a blow from one of Moronao's retainers with his spear, while behind them, one of the ronin has been forced down a well, grabbing onto his opponent's spear while still thrusting his sword. The leader, Yuranosuke, surveys the fighting from the verandah at right, gripping a tasseled command baton. A dynamic image full of detail, with a full moon glowing in the evening sky.
