Original Edo era Japanese Woodblock Print
Agitated Samurai

Comments - Interesting kabuki double portrait of two agitated samurai. The man at left grabs his companion by the back of his collar, glaring at him with eyes wide. His victim looks up in alarm, waving his hand in a stopping motion. Nicely detailed with fine line work in the hair and the blue plaid kamishimo, with embossed lines to delineate the side of the noses.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 3/4" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Loss at top left corner, a few small holes, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
