Blooming Peony Flowers, 1878 - Charming scene of upper-class women in an elegant mansion overlooking a garden filled with blossoming peonies. At lower left, a young beauty smiles as she looks up from writing a poem slip, a brush in hand. The woman standing behind her smiles back as she pulls up the edge of her blue violet outer robe bordered with flowering vines on a trellis. An attractive design, nicely detailed with embossing in the white kimono trim.
