Bando Shuka I as Mikazuki Osen, 1847

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Bando Shuka I as the beauty Mikazuki Osen, standing just outside and open doorway. She grins as she looks back over her shoulder, lifting her robes with one hand. She wears a red and white plaid kimono bordered with a violet and white print and lined with a blue floral fabric, a dotted towel draped over her shoulder. Inside, a mirror wrapped with red cloth sits atop a black lacquer makeup chest. A nicely detailed image.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Wormholes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
