Fighting the Chinese during the Sino-Japanese War, 1894

Comments - Dramatic battle scene of Japanese soldiers fighting the Chinese during the Sino-Japanese War. In the center, an officer on a gray horse draws his sword back above his head as the Chinese soldier on the white horse beside him reels backwards, bleeding from a wound to his throat and shoulder. At right, a Japanese soldier simultaneously chokes a Chinese man on the ground while fending off an attacker with his sword. At left, a shell explodes in a burst of red and orange flames, sending purple-tinge smoke billowing across the battlefield. Detailed with burnishing in the black uniform. We haven't come across this subject before.
