Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom along the Sumida River, circa 1839 - 1842 - Charming scene of people strolling along the Sumida River to view the blossoming cherry trees. At left, vendors sell fish and other items along the side of the embankment. At right, men relax at a tea stand beneath tall pine trees, enjoying the view. The white sails of ships can be seen on the river, with a mountain peak shaded in blue in the distance. A handsome image of this traditional spring activity, nicely composed. We've never come across the design before.
