New Twelve Stages of the Chushingura - Handsome illustration from Yoshifuji's 1852 - 1854 series of the classic kabuki play "Kanadehon Chushingura," based on the true story of the 47 ronin. Each chuban size print features a narrow black and white dogtooth border and a blue gray frame patterned with the crests of Lord Hangan, Lord Moronao, and Yuranosuke, the leader of the 47 ronin. The lively scenes include nicely detailed settings in vibrant color. An interesting choice for a collector interested in this famous tale of honor and revenge.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Paper remnants on reverse at corners from previous mounting. Some prints have a few holes, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Generally in good condition overall.
