Trout from the Jinzu River in Hida Province - Charming portrait of a smiling beauty from Kuniyoshi's series pairing women with famous product from the various provinces of Japan. She grins happily as she holds up a bolt of striped fabric, dressed in a gray kimono patterned with blossoms and wavy lives over a red under robe. Other bolts of cloth wrapped in white tissue are stacked at left. The desire associated with this subject is wanting to wear this. The inset above shows fishermen in two boats stretching a net across the Jinzu River in Hida Province to catch trout. An attractive design from this interesting series.
