Ichimura Kakitsu IV as Washi no Chokichi, 1866

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Ichimura Kakitsu IV as Washi no Chokichi, grinning happily as he looks over his shoulder, a white cloth in his hand. He wears a blue and navy striped kimono over a black undergarment, a tan and blue violet striped robe draped over his shoulder. A few cherry blossom petals fall through the night sky. Nicely detailed with fine line work in the hair and bokashi shading and strong wood grain impression in the background.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 14 1/2" x 9 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Stitching holes at left side, a couple small holes, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
