Nobleman and Angry Samurai, 1855

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a nobleman on the verandah of a palace, frowning unhappily as he looks over his shoulder. He sits on a cushion and wears a brocade robe over a finely embossed white kimono, the folding screen behind him covered with splashing waves. Next to the stairs below, the samurai grimaces as he leans forward, one hand tucked into his vest and the other grasping a metal handle. Nice expressive figures in a well-detailed setting.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 13 5/8" x 9 3/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Backed with paper. A few small wormholes, repaired. Slight soiling, slightly curled. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
