Tokyo Contemporary Collection - This print is from a large group of contemporary prints we recently purchased in Tokyo. With designs from a range of artists, including some famous and rare designs, this is the largest group of contemporary Japanese prints we have ever offered.

Comments - Handsome view inside a room opening onto a garden at night. The low red tables provide a focal point and entry into the angular space, which seems to tilt upwards. Mottled planes of color contrast with solid blacks of the walls and the silhouetted forms of the tree and stone lantern outside. A great, limited edition, modern sosaku hanga design with a beautiful use of texture and layers of subtle color. Printed on "Kiyoshi Saito" watermarked paper and titled, dated 1967, and numbered in pencil in bottom margin.
