Beauty in a Plum Garden

Comments - Lovely scene of a beauty in a plum garden on an early spring day. She pauses on a stepping stone along the edge of a stream, smiling happily as she looks over her shoulder at a companion sitting on the verandah of a house. She wears a pretty purple coat with a lavender diamond pattern over a kimono shaded form blue to yellow, bordered with seashells and seaweed. A plank bridge leads across the water towards a pathway framed by blossoming trees and a stone lantern. At right, a tea ceremony takes place inside the home, with two women and a young girl sitting quietly as the hostess whisks tea in a tea bowl. A very attractive design with burnishing in the black collar and soft shading in the water and sky.
