Sakai Kokodo Han Publishing House - Established in 1870 in the Kanda area of Tokyo, Sakai Kokodo Han quickly distinguished itself as one of the foremost and finest publishers of ukiyo-e reprints. These handsome Meiji era reprints of masterworks by artists such as Hokusai and Hiroshige are beautifully done, with a wonderful attention to detail and color. A great opportunity to purchase a quality reprint of a classic ukiyo-e design.

Mother and Baby - Lovely portrait of a mother holding her baby to her chest beneath her purple kimono. She smiles happily as she presses her cheek against the child's head, cuddling him close. The child sucks his thumb contentedly. A charming design, one we've never seen in reprint before. With Sakai Kokodo Han publisher's seal at lower left.
