Ichikawa Kodanji IV as Endo Musha Morito and Kataoka Gado II as Watanabe Wataru, 1856 - Handsome kabuki scene featuring Ichikawa Kodanji IV as Endo Musha Morito and Kataoka Gato II as Watanabe Wataru. The two samurai are engaged in a discussion on the stone stairs of a palace, scowling at each other. Oddly, each man lifts the edge of his kimono to show off a red band tied around his leg. The colorful leaves of a Japanese maple tree frame the scene. The inset above by Gengyo Miyagi shows a small white cat, a red ribbon tied around its neck. An attractive subject with lovely color and soft bokashi shading.
