Series; Tokyo: Famous Places of Great Japan, 1891

Tokyo: Famous Places of Great Japan - Handsome offset lithograph print from an 1891 series by Eizaburo Katsuyama depicting famous places in Tokyo. Color lithograph prints became popular in Japan after the Meiji restoration and often followed many of the same themes as woodblock prints. This Meiji era series depicts famous places in Tokyo, from gardens and temples to river views and scenes from city life, throughout the seasons. Primarily printed in black, most include a couple soft colors, such as pale green or light yellow. These nicely detailed and attractive designs would add a great decorative touch to any home or office.

Size - 5 3/8" x 8 1/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at top edge from original mounting. Slight toning and spotting. A few prints have small tears at edges. Please see photos for details. Generally in good condition overall.
