Comments - Interesting Osaka kabuki triptych of a group of courtiers arguing. The man in the violet kimono at lower left glares across at his companion, who thrusts out his chin with a tight-lipped frown. The fellow at left looks on them with a surprised grimace, leaning forward anxiously. The nobleman in the center and the samurai at right watch with stern expressions. The red background features the three hollyhock leaf crest of the Tokugawa clan. A nicely detailed design in oban format, which is seldom seen in kamigata-e or prints from the Osaka region.
