Nakamura Fukusuke I as Hakamadare Yasusuke, 1859 - Great kabuki portrait of Nakamura Fukusuke I as the robber Hakamadare Yasusuke, who is sneaking up on Minamoto no Raiko to attack him and steal his robes. He leans forward as he stealthily makes his way across a lonely moon under a crescent moon, hiding a pole arm behind his back. He wears a furry black vest over a brocade robe and suit of armor, his shorter hair sticking up atop his head, with the longer locks pulled back into a ponytail. A handsome composition with fine line work in the hair.
