Child Looking through a Beauty's Kimono

Comments - Charming image of a young child looking up at a beauty through her sheer striped kimono as he plays at her feet. The woman smiles with amusement as the boy grins up at her, clutching the robe with both hands. An apron patterned with seashells and fishing nets is tied around the beauty's waist, and her obi reverses from a gray stripe to gray and red checks with small medallions. Her red under robe is visible beneath her kimono. At upper right, a circular inset depicts a koto and spools of thread, and a shaded border of clouds runs across the top of the page. An attractive image we haven't seen before.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 15" x 10"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A few thinning spots, small hole at edge, repaired. Slight soiling and creasing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
