Comments - Lovely Chikanobu triptych of beauties enjoying an evening of music on a moonlit verandah. One woman leans back against the verandah railing as she strums a round moon lute called a gekkin, smiling over her shoulder at a mother and daughter walking along the shore of a lake below. At right, a woman carries in a tray of refreshments as her companion leans forward eagerly, a fan in her lap. A full moon glows softly behind a fine reed blind that blows in the evening breeze. An attractive design with soft shading in the sky and water, and fine embossing on the white kimono collars.

Artist - Chikanobu (1838 - 1912)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 27 5/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels. Slight paper remnants on reverse at top corners from previous mounting. A couple tears and a few thinning spots, repaired. Slight soiling, a few spots and creases, faint stain at edge. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
