Comments - Wonderful look inside the Meiji Imperial Palace at a gathering of the Imperial family and their attendants. In the center the Empress holds up a young prince dressed in a military uniform, as the young girl standing before them carries a plumed hat in her hands. The emperor stands at far right wearing a matching uniform. The verandah opens onto a lovely garden landscape framed with flowering trees. Wonderfully detailed with rich vibrant color.

Artist - Chikanobu (1838 - 1912)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 12 1/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three attached panels. A few paper remnants on reverse from previous mounting. A few holes, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
