Series; Three Selected Beauties for Pine, Bamboo, and Plum
Opening at only $79!

Pine, 1842 - 1846 - Attractive portrait of a beauty from a rarely seen Kuniyoshi series pairing women with pine, plum, and bamboo, a trio known in Japan as the "Three Friends of Winter." Here, a beauty smiles as she looks over her shoulder, holding her sleeves to her chest. She wears a dark gray kimono with rows of white and black stylized blossoms, lined with blue and tied with a brown obi featuring bands of rabbits in muted tones of blue, gray, and green. Above, a pine branch frames the scene, a colored paper wrapper folded about the base. A charming design.
