Procession of Beauties at Sunrise

Comments - Attractive illustration of beauties in a mock daimyo's procession moving along the water's edge as the sun rises. Women serving as yakko or footmen lead the group, carrying trunks and tall fringed standards. At right, a princess rides in an elegant enclosed palanquin, an attendant carrying a large umbrella over it. Boat already fill the harbor as a red sun appears above the horizon, rays of light radiating across the early morning sky. A handsome design, nicely detailed.
