Comments - Wonderful bold view of Kurashiki, with buildings lining a cobblestone road. The edge of a tile rooftop can be seen in shadow overhead, placing the viewer as looking out onto the scene from a doorway. A few blue clouds drift across the small patch of sky enclosed by the rooftops. A unique perspective with a wonderful use of black against the white of the paper. Signed Yuzaburo Kawanishi, titled "Kurashiki," and numbered 15/30 in pencil in bottom margin. An extra large format sosaku hanga design from a small addition. A striking choice for display.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants and thinning on reverse at edges from previous hinge mounting.
