Comments - Handsome design from a bunraku puppet series by Konobu. Bunraku puppet theater is a traditional Japanese art form that dates back hundreds of years, and is enjoying a revival today. These sophisticated puppets can be several feet high, and are highly articulated to move realistically. These lively images are rendered in beautiful color, with wonderful detail capturing the lifelike quality of the characters. Many features touches of shimmering mica, or mica backgrounds. A fascinating look at the world of bunraku theater.
