Samurai with a Pole Arm

Comments - Great kabuki portrait of a samurai gripping a pole arm, and scowling furiously as he looks over his shoulder. His sleeves are tied back with a purple sash, which flutters in the air behind him. He wears a brightly colored kimono patterned with circular crane motifs and yellow swirls, lined in green, over a purple under robe with yellow fringe. A terrific bold image.

Artist - Toyokuni (1769 - 1825)

Image Size - 14 3/8" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A few wormholes, repaired. Slight creasing and soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
