Beauty Lighting a Pipe

Comments - Lovely design of a young woman under the mosquito netting at night. She emerges from behind the netting to light her pipe at the lantern flame before retiring for the night. An inset at upper left shows a view of a thatched roof house with an ancient plum tree dotted with buds behind it, framed with a "cracked ice" patterned border. Beautifully detailed with fine line work in the netting.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14" x 10"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Losses at top corners, a few small holes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and rubbing, a few creases at edge, small paper remnant at upper right edge. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
