Seated Warrior

Comments - Handsome portrait of a warrior sitting on a folding stool covered with a spotted deer skin. He is dressed for battle in full armor, wearing a horned battle helmet topped with a dragon and holding folding fan. His two swords hang at his side, one encased in a tiger skin sheath, his bow and arrows behind him. A purple drapery hanging overhead features the three hollyhock left crest of the Tokugawa Clan. The two panels at left feature calligraphy. Beautifully colored and finely detailed, with burnishing in the black areas of the armor and allover cloth embossing in the background.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels. Small loss at corner, C-shaped tear, a few holes, repaired. Toning, a few creases, slight ink offsetting. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
