Girls Practicing Etiquette, 1896 - Charming scene of young girls practicing etiquette. At right, two girls bow to each other in greeting as a girl carries a covered teacup on a stand, smiling happily down at her companions. In the center, an older girl hands a stack of books to a younger girl, who reaches for them eagerly with both hands. At left, a child takes a bundle of scrolls from an elegant lacquer shelf, the girl beside her holding a tray with a bowl of food on it. A delightful triptych, with lively color and wonderful detail in the fine kimono fabrics.
