Dancing Beauty and Noblemen

Comments - Beautiful kabuki scene depicting a Heian era beauty and two noblemen. She stands in the center, striking a pose as she dances, her folding fan emerging from beneath the sleeve of her elegant robe. The samurai kneeling at left looks up at her with a suspicious frown as he flings one sleeve behind his head, a quiver of arrows at his back and a commoner prancing about behind him. The nobleman at right scowls unhappily, holding his staff of office between his hands. He wears a black robe with a beautiful burnished design over full hakama pants, and a tall court cap. Each panel features a circular inset of another actor in character. A handsome design and a lovely crisp, clean print with deep rich color. A great choice for a kabuki collector.
