Ono Sadakuro Bunraku Puppet

Comments - Tonight we're excited to offer a beautiful group of first edition prints from a bunraku puppet series by Konobu Hasegawa. The bunraku puppet theater is a traditional Japanese art form that dates back hundreds of years, and is enjoying a revival today. These sophisticated puppets can be several feet high, and are highly articulated to move realistically. Konobu's colorful depictions capture the charming quality of these lifelike figures. From brave samurai to beautiful princesses, these wonderful designs offer a fascinating look at the world of bunraku theater. Beautifully printed, many with embossing or burnishing or handsome wood grain impression. We've seen second edition prints from this series elsewhere online priced from $80 to $125 each. A great choice for collectors.
