Comments - Fantastic depiction of the onsen or hot springs at Mt. Futara, also known at Mt. Nantai. The area bustles with activity as visitors stroll about the streets and patronize the many teahouses hung with colorful red paper lanterns. At far left center, steam rises from a stone-walled basin at the water's edge, with water running through a trough down to a covered bath below. People can be seen bathing in several other locations as well. At right, steep stairs lead through a torii gate to a sacred temple atop the peak. Each building is identified with a red name cartouche. Wonderful detail in this interesting subject.
