Comments - Fantastic depiction of the troops of Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin during the heated Battle of Tokida. At lower right, a row of samurai armed with guns fires off a volley of shots as the enemy charges them, the bullets streaking across the space between the forces. At top center, a warrior is struck, reeling backwards from the force. At left, more samurai go down, collapsing onto the ground along with a horse, their wooden shields no match for the superior firepower of their opponents. At top left, a general on horseback charges fearlessly ahead, a shot exploding as it hits the tip of his sword. Across the top, drifting smoke obscures the line of standards indicating the approach of additional troops. An incredible, atmospheric image and a fascinating look at a samurai battle.
