Comments - Handsome triptych depicting the Meiji Emperor and Empress and ladies-in-waiting enjoying at outing to view cherry blossoms. The empress stands in the center with two attendants behind her, looking up as the beauty in the purple kimono at right gestures with her hand. At left, the emperor sits on a chair beneath a flowering tree with cloth panels behind it to provide privacy. A rushing waterfall plunges straight done a rocky cliff in the center, and a figure stands on the steep steps alongside the river at left. Other women watch from the verandah at right. A charming design with vibrant color, nicely detailed with burnishing in the black kimono in the left panel.
