Comments - Intriguing original preparatory watercolor painting for a woodblock print for a bookplate for the Yokota Library. It features a large smiling catfish and a smaller red crab against a green background. Paper strips have been pasted over a red border, and printer's notes are written in the margins, along with color samples. There is a Yokota Library at the U.S. Yokota Air Base in Western Tokyo, but we are unsure if this image relates to that. An interesting and one-of-a-kind subject.
