Deer by After Ogata Korin (1658 - 1716)

Original After Ogata Korin (1658 - 1716) Japanese Woodblock Print
Deer

Comments - Handsome image of deer from a series of woodblock prints based on paintings by the great 17th century Rimpa master Ogata Korin. Beautifully rendered with simple forms capturing the grace and elegance of the deer. This print features the leaf crest of the publisher Kobayashi Bunshichi, whose shop was destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923, so this image dates from prior to that. A lovely design to display.

Artist - After Ogata Korin (1658 - 1716)

Image Size - 9 5/8" x 14 3/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Toning, a couple light creases at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
