Raising Silkworms

Comments - Handsome print from a series depicting the stages involved in sericulture, the ancient art of producing silk. Here, a beauty uses a feather to transfer eggs from a sheet of paper. A rack of trays at upper left holds trays of silkworms covered with mulberry leaves, their only food. An interesting subject, nicely detailed.

Artist - Kunisada III (1848 - 1920)

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 9 3/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. A few small wormholes, repaired with backing. Slight soiling and rubbing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
