Series; Thirty-two Aspects in the Modern Style

The Just-before-dawn Type, 1859 - Attractive portrait of a beauty adjusting her hairstyle in the early morning, using both hands as she clenches a roll of tissues between her teeth. She wears a blue plaid outer kimono with bands of gray and white geometric patterns over a red tie-dyed under robe with a collar featuring stylized blue waves and embossed star shapes. The inset above shows a small gray case sitting atop a folded length of blue cloth with a closed fan resting atop it. A charming design, the figure set off by a deep jewel-tone blue background. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Horizontal centerfold. Small thinning spot, a few wormholes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, light creasing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
