Comments - Terrific group portrait of the cast of a kabuki play about the famous Soga Brothers, here depicted riding on a ship with a magnificent phoenix prow. The two brother are shown at left wearing matching red kimono with yellow horizontal stripes. Their sworn enemy and the murderer of their father, Suketsune appear at top center in a geometric print robe, holding out a large cup of sake. A great design with an interesting format. Includes burnishing in the black kimono.
