Lasting Impressions of a Later Genji Collection - Handsome image from a series illustrating the famous Japanese novel "The Tale of Genji." Each print illustrates a chapter in Murasaki's beloved story with a scene from the life of Prince Genji, a nobleman of the Minamoto Clan. Beautifully drawn figures are accompanied by elegant furnishings, set against a background of subtle embossed patterns and clouds of confetti. Lovely detail in the sumptuous kimono fabrics and household items. A beautifully printed series dating from 1857 to 1861.
Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two separate panels. Horizontal centerfolds. Paper remnants on reverse at top spots near top edge of each panel from previous mounting. Slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
