Comments - Handsome portrait of the geisha Hinazo, sitting quietly and looking ahead. She wears a blue and white floral print kimono over an under robe with a geometric print red and white collar, tied with a pale yellow obi with wave motifs. Her hair is pulled softly back into a large bun, adorned with a flowered comb, a red ribbon, and two ornaments, one trimmed with metal fringe. The hairline is beautifully detailed with fine line work, and shaded so that the ear is slightly visible. The colorful figure is set off by a shimmering silver mica background. A lovely design by this rarely seen artist, who did not do any more woodblocks after 1925.
