Sketches of Famous Places in Japan - In the early 1960s, the publisher Hamamatsu-Do (Doi) re-released a group of classic shin-hanga landscapes by Hasui and Koitsu under the series title "Sketches of Famous Places in Japan." Using the original blocks, Hamamatsu-Do (Doi) printed the designs, which were also distributed by the publisher Oedo Mokuhansha. The series was produced in a limited edition of 200 sets of 28 subjects, very finely printed and beautifully colored. A terrific opportunity to collect a lovely shin-hanga design.

Uedo Mokuhanga printing - This print is from a special edition printing of shin-hanga landscape masterworks from the artists Hasui and Koitsu printed by the publisher Uedo Mokuhanga. In the early 1960s Uedo Mokuhanga re-released a set of twenty-seven famous shin-hanga landscape prints. These beautiful designs were printed from the original blocks and are a nice opportunity to collect some of the most stunning landscapes of the shin-hanga period.

Spring Rain at Gokoku Temple, 1932 - Peaceful scene of a gentle spring rain at Gokoku Temple in Tokyo. A tall pine tree at right dwarfs the small figure of a woman below, walking quietly towards the temple gate. Lovely handling of the cloudy sky and the shimmering reflections on the watery pavement below. A beautiful Hasui subject.
