Sketches of Famous Places in Japan - In the early 1960s, the publisher Hamamatsu-Do (Doi) re-released a group of classic shin-hanga landscapes by Hasui and Koitsu under the series title "Sketches of Famous Places in Japan." Using the original blocks, Hamamatsu-Do (Doi) printed the designs, which were also distributed by the publisher Oedo Mokuhansha. The series was produced in a limited edition of 200 sets of 28 subjects, very finely printed and beautifully colored. A terrific opportunity to collect a lovely shin-hanga design.
Uedo Mokuhanga printing - This print is from a special edition printing of shin-hanga landscape masterworks from the artists Hasui and Koitsu printed by the publisher Uedo Mokuhanga. In the early 1960s Uedo Mokuhanga re-released a set of twenty-seven famous shin-hanga landscape prints. These beautiful designs were printed from the original blocks and are a nice opportunity to collect some of the most stunning landscapes of the shin-hanga period.
Akashi Bay, Inland Sea at Seto, 1938 - A beautiful design and lovely Koitsu print of the fishing port Akashi in the early evening. The shimmering reflections in the water are beautifully rendered. Lovely muted color palette with soft shading in the sky and water.
Signed - Koitsu with red artist's seal "Shin" (true)

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Paper remnants or thinning on reverse at two points on right edge from original publisher mounting. A few prints have a couple light creases at edges. Please see photos for details. Very nice overall.
