Series; Lives of Brave and Hot-blooded Heroes

Konjin Chogoro Struggling with a Three-eyed Demon, 1866 - Fantastic image of the wrestler Konjin Chogoro struggling with a fierce three-eyed demon. According to legend, the incredibly strong wrestler from Musashi Province fought with the devil of Konjin and won. Here, the green monster shrieks with its mouth wide open as it grabs Chogoro aground the waist. He wraps his arms around his attacker, squeezing with all his might as he stares up at it with a determined frown. The demon has glaring yellow eyes and a snake slithering around its face, its wild hair sticking out around its head beneath a fluttering sash. An incredible, dramatic design, beautifully detailed with fine line work in the hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes. A great supernatural subject, one we've never come across before.
