Comments - Lovely depiction of beauties gathered in the upper story of a teahouse. A woman standing in the center pulls up the edge of her outer kimono as she chats with a kneeling companion holding a pipe. At right, a young beauty looks up from reading a letter as a woman rests her hands on her shoulders. The beauty standing next to them wears a pretty robe with a scene of plovers taking flight above an embankment. The room features an unusual coffered ceiling with nature scenes in sumi ink between red lacquer beams, and a large floral arrangement of peonies and irises in a red vase at right. The verandah overlooks a view of the water's edge framed by blossoming cherry trees. A beautiful design with rich jewel-tone color and wonderful detail, including burnishing in the black kimono. We've never come across this subject before.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. A few small holes, repaired. A few creases, very slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
