Tamakazura (Jewel Garland), Chapter 22 - Fantastic image of the young diving girl Tamatori pursued by an octopus as she escapes from the Dragon King's palace carrying a sacred jewel. She recovered the jewel at the request of Fujiwara no Kamatari, her father-in-law and the founder of the Fujiwara clan. She tucks the pearl safely under her arm, holding a knife above her head as the octopus slithers along the sea floor, beginning to wrap its tentacles around her. A finely detailed image of the Dragon King's castle appears in the soft blue background, surrounded by waves. An incredible scene with terrific detail, and a great illustration of this famous tale.
