Usugumo (Wisps of Cloud), Chapter 19 - Incredible design of the enormous earth spider clinging to its web behind two young samurai. At left, Utou Yasukata sits on the ground holding his sword upright with one arm outstretched, a worried expression on his face. Soma Yoshikado stands calmly beside him, unrolling a scroll and glaring at the giant spider, which looks up at him with glowing yellow eyes, its menacing legs stretched out across the page. A great image of this mythical creature known as the "Tsuchigumo," beautifully detailed. A great subject for a collector interested in Japanese legends.
