Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait from the classic 47 ronin drama "Kanadehon Chushingura" of Lord Wakasanosuke, becoming incensed at Lord Moronao's advances towards Lady Kaoyo, the wife of his friend Lord Hangan. He scowls as he looks over his shoulders, his brows furrowed as he pushes up one sleeve of his red under robe. His black kimono is detailed with a beautiful burnished geometric pattern. A dramatic image with the figure set against a red sky beneath a pine tree.
