Performer Balancing a Top, 1847 -1852

Comments - Intriguing kabuki scene of a performer striking a pose, balancing a top on his upraised palm while holding a folding fan behind his back. He wears a blue kimono with an interesting design of red paper lanterns hanging from a blossoming cherry tree, tucked into yellow pants with a border of a red lacquer shrine fence. Tiny blue and yellow triangle are scattered across the background like confetti. An interesting subject.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 14 1/2" x 10"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A few tiny holes, a few thinning spots, repaired. Faint toning, a few light creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
